First floor

Up the curving staircase, you come to the first floor which contains the two bedrooms and the bathroom. The staircase is typical of the region: it is terracotta tiled with wooden nosing of stairs. The first floor is decorated in fresh blue and white tones which give the impression of cool, especially in the hot summer. Here too the charm of the past is prevailing: the exposed ceiling beams enhance the volume of the room, furniture and lamps are antic, the doors, windows and their handles are still the original ones so as the terracotta tiled floors. Both rooms look over the quiet "placette" with benches and its central mulberry tree which make them very lighty and airy.
One of the bedrooms - with a French double bed, an antique travelling marble top dressing table and a wardrobe - has an en-suite toilet room: with an ancient washbasin, a toilet and much storage space for suitcases and bags.

The second bedroom with a cosy "alcove" matching to the curtains contains two single beds, a big oak double door wardrobe and a dressing table hand painted with floral motives in soft yellow colours.

The bathroom in white and blue has lots of character due to its original antique lion's claw foot cast iron bath tub and its ancient washbasin. It also has a separate shower and a toilet.

It is a "creation" of ours in this house where there was originally only one water tap downstairs by the old stone sink - and no toilet at all!
